Susie Suarez

Susie practiced yoga on and off for several years before fully
committing to her practice in 2013. She completed her RYT 200-Hour
Certification in Vinyasa Yoga at Onyx in 2016 and has also discovered
a deep connection to the practice of Kundalini Yoga under the caring
instruction of Shannon Elliott and Ogden Kruger.

A licensed funeral director by trade, Susie has spent countless hours
serving people from all walks of life during times of tremendous pain
and vulnerability. These experiences have taught Susie how valuable
yoga can be as a tool for inviting self-love, healing, and an openness
to grace during life’s most challenging moments.

Susie’s approach to teaching yoga is loving and supportive, and her
classes encourage a sense of playful curiosity. Her instruction emphasizes alignment and safety within each pose, and modifications are always offered to help students meet themselves where they are. Susie believes that yoga is for every body and strives to help each student access their unique personal power through cultivating compassion, flexibility, and resilience -- both on and off the mat.

Susie feels deeply grateful for all her teachers past, present, and future, as well as for her fellow practitioners who continue to inspire her growth as both a teacher and a student.



Susie Suarez instructs the following:
  • Pranayama and Meditation
  • Find stillness and peace within. Explore the benefits of meditation (dhyana) and breathing practices (pranayama) - perfect on their own or as a complement to your yoga practice. This class includes light stretching and warmups to prepare for a seated practice as well as discussion of technique and philosophy. Various breathing practices will be taught, ranging from gentle to vigorous. Classes will also include chanting and vocalizations to experience the benefits of vibrational energy. No experience or equipment needed; wear comfortable clothes and bring yourself just as you are.
