Yin Yoga

Judit Duran

Judit is a 500 hours certified Yoga Teacher. She started practicing yoga in 2000 and has been teaching since 2003. Judit is thankful for her teacher Ranjitha Sandeep who inspired her to follow the path of yoga, "sincerely the most beautiful journey I have ever taken". Apart from studying with Ranjitha she has also studied with Cheri Clampett and Arturo Peal. She feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to India several times to deepen her practice and feels grateful for all the support her husband and 2 kids have always given her. Judit opens her heart and soul in her yoga classes taking care of everybody's individual needs, working mind body and spirit as a whole. Her classes consist of: asanas (postures), meditation, breathing techniques, inspirational readings that go beyond the yoga mat, and guided visualizations. Judit is also a Health Coach. She received her certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NY. As a health Coach Judit guides her clients to reach their health and life goals by making step by step changes to their food and lifestyle, at a pace that is comfortable for them. Susie Suarez

Susie practiced yoga on and off for several years before fully
committing to her practice in 2013. She completed her RYT 200-Hour
Certification in Vinyasa Yoga at Onyx in 2016 and has also discovered
a deep connection to the practice of Kundalini Yoga under the caring
instruction of Shannon Elliott and Ogden Kruger.

A licensed funeral director by trade, Susie has spent countless hours
serving people from all walks of life during times of tremendous pain
and vulnerability. These experiences have taught Susie how valuable
yoga can be as a tool for inviting self-love, healing, and an openness
to grace during life’s most challenging moments.

Susie’s approach to teaching yoga is loving and supportive, and her
classes encourage a sense of playful curiosity. Her instruction emphasizes alignment and safety within each pose, and modifications are always offered to help students meet themselves where they are. Susie believes that yoga is for every body and strives to help each student access their unique personal power through cultivating compassion, flexibility, and resilience -- both on and off the mat.

Susie feels deeply grateful for all her teachers past, present, and future, as well as for her fellow practitioners who continue to inspire her growth as both a teacher and a student.

Micole Linehan

MICOLE LINEHAN - ONYX Member Advisor and Yoga Instructor

Micole is Onyx’s Member Advisor and is here to welcome and assist new, potential, and existing members. Discussions range from the most appropriate classes for specific goals and physicality, membership options, and simply what to wear and bring to class. You may email her at micole@onyxyogastudio.com

Micole is also a registered yoga instructor and graduate of Onyx Yoga Studio’s 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training program. She provides a safe and supportive environment for yogis to learn and practice physical and mental tools for well-being. Knowing that yoga has something to offer every individual, she happily teaches and practices a wide variety of styles and levels. Currently this includes basics/beginners, hatha, vinyasa flow, therapeutics, gentle, restorative, as well as pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation classes. In addition, Micole has a personal kundalini practice under the generous guidance of Ogden Kruger and Shannon Elliott. She also enjoys going onsite to local companies to provide yoga and meditation breaks for employees at work.

Yin Yoga is a simple, quiet, in-drawn practice that uses steady, long-held postures that benefit your “yin,” connective tissues, such as the fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints, and bones. Poses are held 3 to 5 minutes each with all muscles relaxed and released.

Yin Yoga is a more meditative approach to yoga, that aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence. It can be practiced by everybody and will complement an already active life or help those who feel distracted by “mind chatter”.

This practice calms the mind and nervous system, reduces stress and anxiety, increases circulation, improves flexibility and joint mobility, balances the internal organs and improves the flow of chi or prana through meridian stimulation.
